About Lynn Walsh

Lynn Walsh is an Emmy award-winning journalist who has been working in investigative journalism for six years in Ohio, Texas and Florida. Currently she is a National Digital Producer for the 30+ Scripps news organizations across the country.

Most recently she was working as the Investigative Producer at WPTV, NewsChannel 5 in West Palm Beach, Florida. She has won state and local awards as well as multiple Emmy's for her stories. She loves holding the powerful accountable and spends more time than she would like fighting for access to public information. Lynn believes in government transparency, First Amendment rights for all and government accountability on both sides of the aisle.

Her passion lies in telling multimedia stories that deliver hard hitting facts across multiple platforms. She describes herself as a "data-viz nerd" who is obsessed with new online tools to share information on the web and mobile applications.

Lynn is a proud Ohio University Bobcat and loyal alumna to the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. She has worked for TV stations in Ohio and Baltimore as well as serving as an intern for The Today Show. She is a contributor to the Radio Television Digital News Association blog and serves on SPJ's FOI and Generation J committees.

An avid concert goer, Lynn lives for the moment and is obsessed with pop culture and social media. She believes the glass is always half-full and sunlight is the best disinfectant. She never turns down an opportunity to see family and friends or a trip to the beach.

Lynn is always interested in new projects surrounding FOI, public information access, mobile reporting tools, social media and interactive journalism.
